“who can be a potential husband and wife?”, Is it my neighbor or one I meet in a CLUB.....lets be mindful about judging others
Today, the aspect of getting potential husbands and wives is taking a central position amidst other daily thoughts in the mind of a normal human being because it comes in with the question of “who can be a potential husband and wife?”, hence reminding us that this area is sensitive in the ethical formation in the human beings.
Plato, a classical philosopher argues that “justice is shared”, meaning that we must treat each other fairly because we share certain things in common as a matter of fact that we are all human thus calling us to cast a reasoning and a sense of discernment before we conclude on certain issues of life. This has caused Sigmund Freud to comment that “one who thinks without acting lives something undone”.
Generally, getting a potential wife and husband does not necessarily require one to visit places like Casablanca bar, but also bearing in mind that classmates those encountered at restaurants may be the best alternatives for a wife and husband thus informing us to throw away the idea of judging people just at the facial and physical assumptions, but rather focus on embracing the concept of common justice through genuine love for others in order to co-exist in the society.
In Uganda today and the world at large, HIV/AIDS may be among the leading killer disease that mostly affects the youth thou yet also the adults. The disease is to some extent spread through having sexual intercourse with someone who may be infected with the virus. This has coupled with the fact that humans are stopped from denying that sexual feelings are not part of them.
Secondly, who knows that even a neighbor may be safe of this disease? So many campaigns have been championed in the name of fighting the disease by different bodies in the country like the ministry of health among others have come up with approaches like ABC to fight against this where;
“A” stands for abstinence from any activity that is related to sex like kissing, playing sex itself but bearing in mind that these are not the only possible ways of spreading and contracting the virus. It may also be contracted through sharing sharp instruments like razor blades, injection needles with other patients in the hospitals and health centers thus putting us at a higher risk since abstinence is just a guiding principle to fighting HIV/AIDS. Therefore as responsible citizens of Uganda, we must mind about others through conducting public campaigns like health awareness weeks in Uganda Christian University that will aid to remind the public that we ought to be conscious about our health which will contribute to grooming others who may turn to be good and potential husbands and wives in future and it is a sense of showing genuine love to others.
“B” also stands for being faithful. This calls for sticking to one wife or husband in marriage hence deleting the mindset of cheating on the husband and wife inside marriage thus this does not apply to the singles. It makes your wife to be the closest neighbor with whom you share a bed and so many ideas that build the family.
Being faithful prevents one from thinking about unnecessary movements to drinking places where temptations of snatching another lady who may be infected with this particular disease that is HIV/AIDS and clearly portrays that one does not love his or her closest neighbor who is the wife or husband.
Lastly the use of condoms. This guiding principle appreciates the fact that we are not perfect in controlling our desires of being faithful to one another in marriage and abstaining from the sexual activities that could to some extent avert us from contracting the disease.
Therefore all these guiding principles communicate that we always act without thinking because amidst all these, there is still adultery in families meaning that we do not acknowledge being faithful. Still without reasoning the youth are not patient to abstain but always involve themselves in premarital sex that lowers dignity and results into a possible exposure to contracting the virus.
As a professional within business studies, it is a responsibility to manage the employees well through respecting both male and female, treating them like people of value to the organization, rewarding them worth of their efforts and eliminating the aspects of sexual harassment hence maintaining their safety at large.
Still a business man or women has a responsibility as far as the community is concerned because the goods are produced for the community. This implies that there must be quality in the goods produced, sensitization offered to the customers on the use some products like condoms and when best is someone eligible to use it and what are the consequences of over using these products thus imparting knowledge where it seizes to exist in order to promote effective growth of the community.
The environment is also our responsibility in that the way we conduct the business must be friendly to the environment through minimizing the amount of pollutants, proper dumping of the wastes because most of the resources are got from the environment and how do we manage them well hence a sensitization on the management of resources is highly required by a businessman.
