Business Transformation of Renowned Singaporean Sculptor
I had the pleasure of meeting, Kumari Nahappan, a renowned Singaporean sculptor and artist earlier today. My colleagues and I have taken on a consulting gig to assist Kumari in exploring ways to transform her business to reach a wider global audience and to identify additional monetisation pathways to scale her business.
Kumari Nahappan works and lives in Singapore. She was originally from Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. She initially studied to become an interior designer in the UK before pursuing a Master in Fine Arts at a well-known Art School in Singapore. Kumari transitioned from a career in interior designing to becoming a full-time artist and sculptor.
Her sculptural works and installations can be found in landmark locations in Singapore. These include Saga at the Changi International Airport, Nutmeg & Mace at the retail hub of ION Orchard, Pedas-Pedas at the National Museum and Pembungaan at OUE Bayfront. Kumari's sculptures can also be found in several Asian cities. These include G Tower in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), the J.Y. Campos Centre in Manila (the Philippines), and Chengdu International Finance Square (China). The photo at the top of this post, gives you a snapshot of her smaller sculptural works of art. She has earned a well-deserved reputation for developing a visual identity that is shaped by her cultural roots and beliefs.
Here is a photo of Kumari and I at a recent event at her office cum workshop.
