There has been a slow but increasing rumble in the crypto sphere involving a coin that has flown under the radar for far too long. That coin is Burstcoin ($BURST). So what is Burstcoin and why should you care?

The long and short of it is that Burstcoin is a cryptocurrency created in 2014 that mines its coin by using PoC or "Proof of Capacity" by using empty hard drive space. I'm not that technical so I will leave links throughout this post here that go into greater detail. It uses FAR less energy consumption to mine as opposed to Bitcoin & other cryptos who mine similarly. For reference it is not much more than running your computer idle throughout the day which most people do anyway.

So how is it gaining traction and exposure some 4 years later? Well the coin was pretty much stagnant after the anonymous creator disappeared and then about a year ago a development team know as Proof of Capacity Consortium (or PoCC for short) took the reigns and have a vision and plan to implement an upgrade or "fork" of the coin they are calling "Dymaxion" to make it quicker, faster & anonymous among other things. The whitepaper for it was announced on December 27th and can be found here.

Since then they have recently upgraded Burstcoins wallet to a version 2.0.0 as the foundation for this Dymaxion upgrade. The coin has since been mentioned in a tweet by the one and only John McAfee see here:

Soon after the price spiked and was mentioned in Forbes

It has also been mentioned in a popular crypto news website called "CoinCentral" Co-Owned by Doug Polk, who has a popular Youtube channel that takes a "down the middle" approach to crypto and doesn't shill coins and exposes scammers.

His websites articles can be found here:

They give a much better summary and technical explanation than I could give here so I highly suggest you check those out.

Also a great 5 part series into the history and summary of Burstcoin can be found on Medium written by Andrew Scott.

And most recently the app "Minergate" wrote an article about Burstcoin and what it can do for cryprocurrencies. I sense they are signaling that they may offer Burstcoin as a crypto that can be mined through their services, which is huge in my opinion. The Minergate article can be found here

I see nothing but good things in the future for this little coin that could and as a friend of mine who doesn't speak English very well always says, "Don't be idot gays!! BURSTcoin to $1 US, remember!!!"

Here are some videos that I feel are worth your time if you are unfamiliar and would like to get involved with mining/investing in Burstcoin:

Feel free to add any other articles or things I may have missed in the comments below, as well as any thoughts you might have. I hope to see you all on the Moon!!!
