"SEC | S19W1: Designing lesson plans"

I am quite happy to take part in this engagement challenge of season 19 week 1.This is my pleasure to discuss that how I may design lesson plans.

What material do you want to teach to students or to your child?


I am a physics lecturer with an experience of almost 5 years but today I don't want to teach on my subject to my students or to my children because I think before learning about any subject any field or any idea it is more important to learn about basic ethics.

Ethics are basically important manners that are important not only in your professional life but also in your practical life that's why if you are ethical then you are successful and if you are unethical then you are a loser in your professional as well as in your practical life that's why my choice is to take this material to my students or to my children.


Explain how you would design the opening activities, core activities and closing activities in a learning material?


It is always important to take things progressively rather than making everything mix up. I would start from opening activities definitely which would just take 10 to 15 minutes and opening activities would be like to ask from different participants to tell their priorities regarding some ethics like honesty fairness and good communication skills as well as you can also give a questionnaire or ethics quiz to participants to know about their spark interest.

If I talk about core activities then these would be just like backbone of learning material and it would be of almost 30 to 40 minutes in which you may organize a case study among participants in which participants can have a lot of discussions on different metals related to ethics with each other. If I talk about closing activities then it would be easy to conclude and close any matter because it would be all about to summarize and make a final conclusion so it would require to review key points of every participants and then extract positive and drawbacks of each point for concluding something positive and standard so in this way I would take my lesson plan.


What method will you use, explain why it is the most appropriate?


For designing lesson plans definitely different methods and strategies can be used like we may start from practical examples and we can ask different participants to critically think about implementation of ethical principles in real life and let them to have a good case study on that real life scenario.

According to me giving real life scenario two participants and asking from them to solve it would be a more best approach because it would help in active learning of all participants about subject matter as well as through practical example they can learn more with interest not with boredom.


What tools and media do you need so that learners can understand it well?


You can make this journey interesting by organising and ethical theater in which you may give different characters to different people and they can present an ethical real life scenario by showing their acting on it because it would be a practical way to teach other audience and for this you need proper props including costumes etc.

Today is an age of social media so through different animations and ethical videos you can promote the lessons you want. If you want to promote ethical lessons at a very low level then you can also use from whiteboard and markers as well as you can also made presentations at PowerPoint and can discuss mutually with each other and can clear your confusions and in all these ways you can learn more better so that was all about my designing of lesson plans and my area or material that I want to promote through my teaching for now which our society really needs!!

নৈতিকতা একটি শিক্ষা যার শিক্ষকের শিষ্ঠাচার থেকে শিক্ষা পেতে থাকে। ব্যবহারিক এবং আচার-আচরণের মাধ্যমে নৈতিকতার বৃদ্ধি পায় এবং এটার পরিচয় পাওয়া যায়। জেনে ভালো লাগলো আপনি পাঁচ বছরের একটি অভিজ্ঞতায় প্রভাষক হিসেবে আছেন। তবে সব মিলিয়ে যদি বলা যায় তাহলে অবশ্যই নৈতিকতার গুরুত্ব অনেক বেশি। যদি ছাত্রদেরকে ব্যবহার আচার-আচরণ এবং ভদ্রতা না শিখায়। তাহলে শিক্ষক হিসেবে আমরা কি শিখাইলাম। এজন্য অবশ্যই নৈতিকতার বিষয়ে ছাত্রদের প্রতি আমাদের গুরুত্ব দেয়া উচিত। ভালো থাকবেন আপনার জন্য শুভকামনা রইল 🥰❤️

I agree with your point of view that the teaching of the basic ethics is the most important thing for the students and why not your approach to relate the things by giving the attendees some clues form the real life examples is a great strategy.
