How cruel can we become?

Bullying is the deliberate and continued physical and psychological abuse that a child receives from others, who behave with him cruelly in order to subdue and frighten them, in order to obtain a favorable result for the bullies or simply to satisfy the need of assaulting and destroying that they usually present.

Bullying doesn't only occur when you are a child, but also at different ages. The victim develops fear and rejection of the context in which he suffers violence; loss of self-confidence and others and decreased school performance.

It's so horrible to think that people physically and psychologically mistreat others because they want, or perhaps to discharge their anger, but there is no reason to treat a person badly for being different or for not liking them as is their personality.

It also happens that it is maintained due to the ignorance or passivity of the people who surround the aggressors and the victims without directly intervening.

Mallory, 12, committed suicide after months of bullying and virtual. Before killing herself, the little gymnast had seen Snapchat's messages asking her when she was going to commit suicide. Mother Dianne, from the US state of New Jersey, spoke when new figures revealed that suicide rates among British girls and young women reached a record level.

The data published by the Office of National Statistics show that last year 13.3% of the deaths of girls between 5 and 19 years old were due to suicide, which represents an increase of more than a third since 2016.

Mallory's personality was changing, but the mother thought it was a logical process of age: "I had no idea they were suicidal signs."

"When I was 10 years old, Mallory came home from school and told me that I had had a bad day because a group of girls had been bad to her, they made fun of her and said she had no friends, that nobody loved her and that I could sit with them at lunch, "she relates with pain.

Dianne called the school several times to talk about what was happening. Even so, the intimidation continued.

They spent the holidays and when he returned to school everything remained the same. His notes began to plummet. The baby made excuses not to go to school, said that her stomach bothered her or that her head hurt.

The girl told her mom that the girls had talked about her on social networks. Mallory did not have Snapchat, so they captured the images and sent them in text so she could see what they were saying. One of the messages read: "You have no friends. When are you going to kill yourself? "

"Tell someone that you do not have friends and that does not like you, that's mean, but to tell someone to go and kill themselves, that's pure poison, "says Dianne painfully.

The mother:"As parents, we take our children to doctors when they have a cold, or for annual check-ups so their eyes, nose and ears are healthy, but we rarely talk about their brain development, their heart or their emotional well-being. treated Mallory as a victim, when a victim is hurt, we take care of her, the problem was that I did not realize I was being victimized. "

Unfortunately there is still bullying, and suicides for these reasons, it's unfortunate to know that people cause this and have fun doing it, but even more regrettable is that they tell their victims to kill themselves

It's incredible to see what we ourselves cause in other people, and it's also frightening, to know that children suffer and hurt themselves.

Sort:

Humanity can be very cruel, especially when we try to find out why.
