FTSE100 rallies on stronger wage data - Pound rises
Britain's FTSE 100 jumped back above 7,200 today as new data showed UK wage growth had risen. At 2.8%, wage growth wasn't as strong as some had expected, but it was enough to overtake inflation for the first time in a year, which means the end of the cost of living squeeze could be near - news which bodes well for retailers in particular.
The Pound also rose to its highest level since the Brexit vote in June 2016.
