Discover Bulgaria

Hi guys,

I am on a holliday in Bulgaria. Never knew the country is so beautiful with such delicious food. Our flight from Holland was less then 3 hours to arrive in the beautiful capital Sofia where we stayed in the appartment of a friend. Since he is a semi-local he showed us the nice places to go and eat. Like this tarator, yogurt with water, garlic, herbs and cucumber, also called cold soup. Since it fills your stomage quickly locals say it is good for loosing weight😉

Sofia has a very rich history, Thracians, Turks, Ottoman empire, medieval times and a lot more. All of them brought there own buildings, culture and religion. All of this can be seen at a lot of places in Sofia, but especially in one place called the square of tolerance.

Some complete different aspect of Sofia is the fact that it has a mountain, Vitosha of 2290m, next to it. In summer you can walk whole day, in winter it turns into a ski resort.

We left Sofia by rental car to Koprivshtitsa. You go back 200 years in time. The village is one big open air air museum, only people just live in the place, which makes it so special. It is wonderful walking around this place and absorbing the vibe, having a coffee on the nice square and taking photos of one of the many bridges.
