Great analysis and summary of the auctions so far! This is valuable information for potential investors to consider when deciding if they want to stake or not. We hope the move to POS will encourage long-term holding as you mention. I think it's likely that people will engage in a combination of staking and speculating on the Bitshares market.
It's going to be an exciting transition for sure! Staking is likely to launch at the beginning of December or perhaps even slightly earlier. We'll be posting info on exactly how to participate via our @buildteam blog as launch time draws near.

Thank you for this excellent piece @mikepm74, I can state that the buildteam founders have no intention of releasing any significant amount of the 9k BUILDTEAM tokens currently held by the buildteam account in the short term. Our aim is to create value for our builders/token holders.
