I couldn't agree more! It really sucks that "classical" buildings are being demolished and replaced with crappy modernist rubble.
Classical buildings should remain standing, if they get damaged during a fire, they must be reconstructed, not demolished.
This is what you get when you have politicians and borrow-money from taxpayers funding generating all the regulations, building permits and a gigantic part of Architect's and Contractor's income.
Free market capitalism would produce what the clients wanted... whereas crony state regulated/engineered has produced buildings that only a Soviet prisoner might enjoy.
