Lumbini is the most beautiful and peaceful place of Nepal. which is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, It is situated 250 km south-west of Kathmandu. There was a stone pillar, which is known as 'Asoka Pillar'. It was erected in 249 BC by Indian Emperor Asoka. Lumbini status as a garden of peace has recognised by the world and different countries and trust are undertaking its development. The most important part of Lumbini is the temple of Mayadevi. It has a stone image of Maya Devi giving birth to Lord Buddha as she holds on s branch.
