BTCPOP Instants Account Performance - August 19th, 2016
Here is the latest update on the performance of the instants account. Data points keep pouring (lol, we only have 5) so we still haven't got enough to make comments that are of significant relevance. However, we will point out the APR for today was higher than the average we are carrying. This bringing our long term (5 days) average up from 1.376% APR to a whooping 2.040% APR. Also, the number of payments was considerably higher. We were getting worried as there was a trend 13 -> 8 -> 4 so we are happy to report we broke out of that with 14 payments today. We are hoping long term with the plans to have the number of users of the site growing and verification going, that the instants loan will be more used and we can get better returns.
Also noteworthy is that by itself, the return for today was of 4.812% which is getting close to the 5% the savings account is currently offering. We want that so we can move out from the savings account into greener pastures. We don't know if that is actually going to be a thing seeing that the more people that move into instants the lower the payout is for each of them. The other thing to consider is that we might all be forced at the end of the day to move into instants account seeing that the savings account is nearing the end of its life. So seeing that the no payout has been above 5% and the average is less than half that... we wonder who is actually invested in the instants account besides ourselves seeing the savings account yields more. Also, we now don't feel it was the right move to move to savings, we know.
