Official Statement of BTC-e on Alex Vinnix, MtGox, and Website Failure

in #btc-e7 years ago (edited)

BTC-e gave out a statement on Bitcointalk.org about their recent incident involving the arrested Russian national for laundering $4M worth of Bitcoins in the last couple of years.

Apparently, they claim that the suspect, Alexander Vinnik - who is also the suspect to have pulled off the MtGox - is not in any way part of BTC-e.

Furthermore, BTC-e promised to return whatever money they have left - minus the funds seized by the FBI (through the confiscated servers, I suppose).

Here's one of their statements that echoed the most.
