NYC Windy Day Ahead Plus More Rain Next Week
Good morning everyone. The rain is finally coming to an end, then we'll have a brief break and more rain. That's how the winter has been, and that's the way it shall continue unless we see any big changes.

Fog and drizzle will finally give way to partial clearing after one more round of rain, but that'll come at a price with a temperature drop during the day and very windy conditions developing. Expect winds 20-30mph sustained, with gusts to near 50 in spots. Highs today in the upper 40's to low 50's, but dropping by mid to late afternoon.
Tomorrow, sunshine returns and winds calm down a little bit, but it'll be cold. Not extreme cold, but seasonably cold in the upper 30's.
Clouds return on Sunday as a weak disturbance slips by. We could see a few rain or snow showers, but nothing of any significance. Highs Sunday in the upper 30's to low 40's.
Expect more clouds on Monday with our next front moving in. As of now, expect afternoon showers that may linger into Tuesday. Highs both days should be in the 45-50 degree range.
In the long range, our pattern remains snow-hostile unless something times out perfect from the Gulf after colder air heads in; but very cold air is hard to find and our system path is a tough nut to crack. As stated before, we're going to have to look for a late February storm or a March blockbuster to save us from 1972/73 type numbers, where we only got 2.8" of snow in NYC for the entire season.
