NYC Steamy Dog Days Bark Loud
Good morning everyone. The dog days have arrived officially, with steamy, humid, gooey, muggy, dank, mostly cloudy and warm conditions throughout the area. First, we'll start off with Florida-esque dew points and near average temps; then we'll dial things up quickly as the weekend continues and we head into next week.

Tomorrow, we clear out a little bit, but keep the humidity in the air, and that extra sunshine will help boost us into the upper 80's. If we get a little bit of extra sunshine, we could crack 90 in spots. Again, we'll have the slight chance of a storm, as will each day during this pattern.
The dog days continue into next week, with Monday most likely being the hottest day of this stretch. More sun = more heat, and we'll go for low 90's in most spots except for the immediate shore. If we can get full sunshine into the area without any clouds impeding our heating hours, don't be shocked to see a few mid 90's pop. Look for the slight chance of a storm as well.
Tuesday, expect a repeat, but maybe we'll dial down the 90's a bit. The jury is still out on that one, so I'm going to call for near 90 temps for now, but we could crack 90 again if conditions are right.
Wednesday continues to look like the best shot for storms before we gradually cool off, but we'll still squeeze out one more very warm to hot one with highs in the upper 80's to near 90.
Thursday and Friday are looking a little bit more comfortable, with low 80's, drier air, and a nice breeze possible. However, relief looks short-lived as next weekend has the potential to be a very warm one again. We'll wait on that one, but the pattern overall is looking 4:3 or even 5:2 into terms of very warm days vs. cooler and drier days.
