NYC Comfortable Weather Continues Before Heat Slowly Builds

Good afternoon everyone. If you're looking for perfect weather in the summertime, this is about as good as it gets. We have seasonably average temps and low humidity holding on for a little while until we slowly turn up the heat. It won't be like last weekend, even at it's hottest, but 90's should make a brief return before we get into a faster moving pattern.

Sunny skies and mid 80's dominate today, which is right where we should be this time of year. Low humidity will help keep things feeling rather comfortable. We'll extend that nice, seasonable weather for 1 more day as we repeat our wonderful conditions tomorrow. REGIONAL RADAR
For your weekend, we slowly begin the process of turning up the heat and humidity. On Saturday, winds shift to the south, pumping in more moisture into the atmosphere. That'll equate to gradually increasing humidity with upper 80's possible, cooler at the shore.

We remain sunny on Sunday, with hot and somewhat humid conditions; highs in the upper 80's to low 90's.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

To start next week, we turn up the humidity even more as a front starts to push its way towards us. Monday and Tuesday are both looking hot and humid, highs in the upper 80's to low 90's. I think we remain dry both Monday and Tuesday, but Wednesday has some questions.

As of this this moment, we'll have increasing clouds on Wednesday with the chance of showers and storms; very humid with highs in the upper 80's to near 90. In terms of severe weather, we'll be watching this front very closely to see if any waves form ahead of it. If this happens, it'll increase the chance of stronger storms in the area as opposed to the type that typically weaken when they hit the coast.

We shall see on this and we have a very long way to go.

Your long range continues to look a little more fast-paced than the previous few weeks, with more cold fronts visiting the area more frequently. This will probably equate to shorter bursts of hot weather, as well as shorter spaces in between comfortable days and transition days to warmer weather.

Remember, while we have a long way to go until we say goodbye to warm weather, we are only approx. 5 weeks to September, which means our fronts will be moving faster on average and they could also pack a little bit more punch as air masses have more contrast.
