Have you ever wondered why the Brits are mad about Fish and chips? Well ponder across the pond no longer.

Fish and chips are a staple of British meals and if you ever visit Britain, you must try fish and chips! Eating fish on Friday dates back to the early days of Catholics who would abstain from meat and subtitute for fish on that day. This tradition has carried on through the ages, the UK has historically been a Christian country. You will find that fish and chips are on offer at restaurants, work and school canteens on Friday. You will also see chip shops packed that day too.

If you visit the seaside in UK there will be plenty of fish and chip shops that will sell freshly caught fish. We have a slang name for fish and chip shops - Chippy
