The agreement between the United Kingdom and the European Union foresees a transitional phase by the end of 2020. During this period, the UK will have access to the EU's internal market and there will be no additional customs duties.

The deal also regulates the rights of citizens on both sides, the financial demands on London and the border issue between Northern Ireland and Ireland. The EU has offered Britain a kind of "honest" economic and political partnership.
