Day 100 - Introducing CryptoBrexit
CryptoBrexit will be kept for the following 100 days, when Britain exits the European Union. At the time of writing, the UK is in chaos: its Prime Minister in stasis, its parliament shambolic and its people divided. CryptoBrexit believes that the UK will crash out of the European Union on 29th March 2019 and severe economic consequences will follow
CryptoBrexit offers an alternative to riots, referendums and blind hope.
The aim of CryptoBrexit is two fold, firstly to make a political case for the transition to a crypto economy, and secondly to provide people with the practical tools that they need to make that change. Brexit will be a profound rupture in the fabric of Britain. It is an event where there will be a "before" and an "after". CryptoBrexit calls on you to carefully consider the "after" and spend the next 100 days preparing for it. The old world is dying and a new world yet to be born. Our task is to shape the future not resist it. The choice used to be Socialism or Barbarism; that choice has now become more stark between fully automated luxury communism or a nazi-themed hellscape.
CryptoBrexit is unashamedly Marxist, Feminist and Internationalist.
The traditional economy values labour poorly, from the starving artist and the overworked housewife to the idle rich and the leisure class, them that works the hardest are the least provided. Patriarchy devalues the economic contribution of women and strips them of their assets, while colonialism rips the wealth from oppressed peoples. Crypto offers us an opportunity to explore the very concepts of value, labour and renumeration, while Brexit is an opportunity to destroy the British state which has been a stain on the international community for so long.

Brexit, crypto and accelerationism have all been claimed by the right. It is time for us to claim them back. Brexit is a monumental act of self-harm, a kamikaze act of national suicide. Brexit will destroy the British State. The reunification of Ireland is all but guaranteed under the Good Friday Agreement and the independence of Scotland must surely follow. Crypto offers us a way out of the debt riddled system of global finance where money is created by banks to secure the earth's resources for the benefit of the rich. We must move forward and urgently, we have very little time before ecological collapse and the technological singularity is upon us, we should use that time wisely.

The topics that CryptoBrexit tackles have been colonised by the far-right and are regarded with skepticism by most of the left. Out on a limb is a dangerous and uncomfortable place to be. The internet can be hostile, and antagonism online can frequently bleed over into the real world, taking up time, attention and energy. You may notice for example that the blog is on an Steemit, an unfamiliar platform to many. This was chosen not only because it offers crypto monetisation but also because it has a 2 week signup for a free account, which should keep the trolls at bay... for a while at least.
The last 2 years have been characterized by inertia and confusion. The formal institutions which govern us are in deadlock, while calls for a second referendum are a dead end that many of the left have disappeared down in the absence of any other strategy. The "Lexiteers", a workerist bunch with a Brit-nationalist orientation rightly criticise the EU, but have no real progressive thought or radical alternatives.
The future, once so exciting - filled with space travel and flying cars, has turned into a dystopia of environmental degradation, killer robots and surveillance capitalism. We need radical solutions and we need them fast. The future is coming whether we like it or not.
In Britain the future is going to arrive abruptly in precisely 100 days. Embrace it, give it a hug and a squeeze as you ride that rollercoaster ...and as you squeeze, shape its form.
