Breastfeeding:it's advantages
Breastfeeding has got many benefits.So I am mentioning them simply.Those are-
Benefits to the baby-
•Breast mlik contains all the nutriments a baby need for normal growth and development.It contains adequate amount.
•It is readily available,at correct temperature and in required amount.
•It doesn't require preparation,hence free from contamination.
•It enhanced emotional bonding between mother and child.
•It contains protective factors like immunoglobulins,leucocytes and antibodies,macrophages etc. to protect the baby against infections like diarrhea,r respiratory infections.
•It has a water content of 88%,so there is no need of extra additional water.
•It is less prone to develop asthma,allergic disease.
Benefits to the mother-
•Initiation of breastfeeding soon after birth prevents PPH.
•Suckling of the breast soon after birth stimulates oxytocin secretion which help in early involution.
•It also has contraceptive effect in 1st 4-6 months after delivery.High prolactin level present at that time prevents ovulation.
•It has also got protective effect against breast and ovarian cancer.
Benefits to the family and society-
•It helps to save money,time and conserve energy.
•It promotes family planning,decreases need for hospitalization and helps in survival of the child.
