Brave Browser's main attraction is that it blocks ads & is fasters than Google Chrome & Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc. Which is awesome, right? But that's not all. It also allows you to earn some extra pocket money while you browse the web. If you were opt-in they will show you ads and pay you for that, pay for your attention.

How many other web browsers to that?

But those are just words. Let's check out and make sure if it's really faster than Google Chrome.

How much time can you save? Just by changing your browser. That's insane. The only part that bugs me about this is that Brave previously has advertised that they are x8 faster than any other web browser out there. That clearly is false. Overstatement.

Now when you do this test on your own, you can play around with the setting, if you're are going to block all the ads & scripts the web pages are going to load faster if you're not going to do that it's not going to be faster than Google & Mozilla. So when you're doing the test, keep that in mind, since that's an important feature.

How many users does Brave have?

At the beginning of 2018, they only had 1 million users. At the end of it 5.5 million. That’s a 450% increase in user base over the year.

Brave currently has 20+ million downloads on Google Play.
Apple store doesn’t provide us with such details.

Brave doesn’t post information about their user base each month, so we have what we have. The last update was in January 2019.

Does Brave block ads within search results?

No. If you search for something, you will still see Google Ads in the SERP. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or not, because sometimes the Search Ads give out quite useful ads, but nevertheless it would be a great feature to have to those who want that.

Where can I download Brave?

Brave can be downloaded HERE

The page should automatically recognize the device's operating system and offer the appropriate version. If it doesn't, select from the choices at the bottom of the page: Windows x86 or Windows x64, Windows 7 or later; macOS 10.9 or later; or Linux x64 for Debian, Fedora, Ming, openSUSE and Ubuntu.

Conclusion

Even though the main features are still in development, Brave is already kicking ass. It's clearly faster than Chrome and Mozilla according to the source. Plus it blocks all the ads and it can connect to Tor and it gives you the chance to take bake your privacy(data) If these reasons haven't convinced you...I don't know what will. It's definitely worth checking out.

The most exciting part about Brave is also their talented team:

Brendan Eich – Co-founder, CEO. Eich was a corporate leader at Mozilla for a period of 11 years. His first position was Chief Architect, and his last was CEO. Between 1995 and 2003, he was Netscape’s Chief Architect.

Brian Bondy – Co-founder, CTO. Bondy was a Senior Software Engineer at Mozilla between 2011 and 2014. He left to take on the position of Software Developer Lead at Khan Academy– a non-profit educational organization that’s mission is to provide “a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.”

Yan Zhu – Chief Information Security Officer. Prior to joining Brave, Zhu was a Security Engineer at Yahoo! She also helped design the architecture of the web as a member of the W3C Technical Advisory Group. She dropped out of high school, then earned a B.S. in Physics from MIT.

Ben Livshits – Chief Scientist. Livshits was an Engineer at Netscape and Yahoo! In the early 2000s. Later, he taught at MIT before moving on to Microsoft. He became a Senior Researcher there during his 10-year stretch.

Holli Bohren – CFO. Bohren has 20 years of experience as a financial and operations executive. He’s an expert in the areas of venture debt and equity, M&A financing, debt restructuring, operational transformations and strategic leadership. Notable companies that he’s been involved with include Teachscape, BiteSize Networks and others.

Johnny Ryan – Chief Policy & Industry Relations Officer. Ryan began his career as a journalist, but then he became more involved with technology after the internet reshaped the media in the 2010s. As Chief Innovation Officer at The Irish Times, he helped the newspaper acquire its largest ad partnership ever. Then, he became an expert in the EU’s GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) as Head of Ecosystem at PageFair.

The BAT white paper is convincing in the way that it describes the issues that advertisers have been struggling with for years and then solves them with the benefits– the major one being transparency– that emerging blockchain technologies bring to the table. It describes how web content is funded, points out inefficiencies in how that sausage gets made and then suggests a compelling solution.

Brave's whole future will most likely depend on how well Brave Rewards works. If they will deliver on their promises to provide high-quality traffic to advertisers while offering payouts to their users, it's pretty easy to see how they will take over Google Chrome. On the other hand, if Brave Rewards fail and don't fill the advertiser's needs...Then it's just a fast browser. I'm really curious about how this is going to work out.

I hope you liked the Brave Web Browser Review If not I'll try to do better the next time.
