My Lucky Bracelet
My friend and I were standing outside our office building after our lunch break when a monk approached us. He immediately put a bracelet on my wrist and gave me like a quick prayer. He doesn't speak English that much or Filipino, he was talking in his native language so I don't have any idea what he was saying or what is the bracelet for. You know stuff like maybe for luck or something, you know what I mean. There were other people aside from us and so everyone was looking at me, as the crowd can obviously recognize the monk(wearing a saffron).
Then he paused for a bit then said a word that I couldn't understand(it's like Chinese or Thai or Japanese, not sure which one but you get what I mean), so I asked again but still don't know what he said. He reached into his pocket and showed me a fifty peso bill. And I realized that it costs me 50 bucks, just for that - the bracelet and his prayer!
I thought I was the chosen one or something, but you know how it went. LOL!
It made my day though, and hopefully, the bracelet and his prayers serve its purpose if it was for luck(I assumed) but I really don't know.
I hope you enjoyed my story, thank you for reading and have a good to you all!
