The young upcoming boxer claimed his victory via a commanding performance in which he knocked Guevara down twice in the second round, and then finished proceedings with a third and final knock down in the third round, leaving the referee in charge, David Fields, no choice but to call a halt to the fight.

Stevenson has now moved into the prime position to challenge for a world title and now finds himself the next mandatory fight for WBO featherweight world champion Oscar Valdez, if Valdez decides to stay at the weight and defend his title.
