The Golovkin Vs. Canelo Super-Fight Is Now Officially On!
A dud firework
After the dud firework that was Canelo Vs. a weight drained Chavez last night, we now can lick our lips at the official announcement of GGG Vs. Canelo!
Last night's fight was a debacle and most of the crowd booed as Chavez barely threw a punch. Chavez looked weight drained, and this was a bad move by Golden Boy Promotions as it made Canelo look really bad. Even he failed to attack like his normal self. He just didn't know what to do?!
New fireworks!
The GGG fight will be a different proposition altogether. Your first question is 'Who is going to win this one?' Even GGG didn't look convincing in his last fight and the weight at which this fight will be made is still to be decided.
I believe Canelo will go into this fight as slight favourite, as Canelo looked well at 164.5lbs last night, so I don't think he'll be underpowered at 160lbs or at catchweight.
The fight location is still to be decided yet. De La Hoya of Golden Boy has mentioned the UK and Dubai, but I favour either Texas or Las Vegas for the September 16 bout.
Personally in this fight I favour the odds of GGG in this fight from a) a betting perspective and b) I think GGG like Chavez will come in heavier into this fight and Canelo may be weight drained. After last nights terrible performance I would not waste one cent on Canelo. What do you think? Who wins on September 16? Comments below.
Good points. Weight cutting is always a factor. It amazes me though how just a few pounds can literally KILL a Boxer where a MMA fighter can cut 10 to 15 pounds the day before weigh ins and be fine. I remember the late Diego Corrales fight with Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather made him come down to 134 pounds. only 4 pound more than is normal 138. Diego looked like he should of starred in the Walking Dead. hahaha This will be a FUN fight. and a lot of fun with the discussions leading up to it.
Mayweather did the same to Canelo too! He looked terrible in that fight!!
