MAYWEATHER VS McGREGOR: THE STATS- THE TELEGRAPH

Floyd Mayweather's fight against Conor McGregor in August is set to break all of boxing's box-office records. Purses well into nine figures are assured for both fighters despite McGregor having no previous experience in the sport.

HOW DO THEY MEASURE UP?

Mayweather has an undefeated professional fight record of 49-0 with 26 knockouts.

He is widely regarded as one of the best defensive fighters ever, and prides himself on his ability to evade punishment with his skillful movement about the ring while making adjustments against opponents on the fly.

A win for 40-year-old Mayweather would move him ahead of former heavyweight great Rocky Marciano, who also retired with a perfect 49-0 career record.
Mayweather is a welterweight - 150lb, or 69kg - and stands 5ft 8in tall.

McGregor's MMA fight record stands at 24 bouts, 21 wins and three defeats - 18 of those victories have come via knockout.

The 28-year-old's most recent defeat was against Nate Diaz at UFC 196 in March last year, but the Irishman defeated him in a rematch at UFC 202.
He has fought at several weight levels, most recently at welterweight and lightweight.

Other fight statistics

Here, Press Association Sport takes a closer look at the numbers behind the controversial contest:

0 - Number of amateur and professional boxing bouts McGregor has been involved in.
49 - Number of consecutive victories racked up by Mayweather as a professional.
600,000,000 - Total projected amount (in US dollars) expected to be grossed by the contest.
2 - Number of UFC titles currently held by McGregor.
19,500,000 - Total number of pay-per-view buys for Mayweather bouts in his career to date.
13 - Seconds it took McGregor to knock out Jose Aldo and win the UFC featherweight title in December 2015.
5,000,000 - Amount in dollars paid by Mayweather for a Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita - one of the world's rarest cars - last year.
25 - Hours of community service undertaken by McGregor as punishment for a bottle-throwing incident prior to his match with Nate Diaz.

My question: Does he(McGregor) even stand an ounce of a chance?
