Boxing's biggest bout; 49-0 Vs 0-0: What happens IF Mcgregor beats Mayweather come August 26th? is an UpSet possible?

in #boxing7 years ago (edited)

The world loves upsets and upsets happens all the time. The Money Fight has been greatly and widely publicized and the sum total is mind boggling.
Statistically, the numbers stack up nicely; "$90 million worth of tickets sold and $500 million in pay-per-view revenue". Win or loose, both men will walk away couple of millions richer. The amount and fame that will follow will work differently for both fighters.

THE WHAT IFS.

The What ifs is why I am doing this post and I must say having been following this 'event' for a long time and almost getting to the d-day, I know the odds favor Mayweather given his record- 49-0..., but then I am a fan of upset and an UpSet is what I am now looking for. Okay, I am not saying I want you to loose your bet, I am simply saying, I love upsets and as should you.

A quick gist.

In 1893 Andy Bowen and Jack Burke were involved in the longest fight in history. The fight lasted 110 rounds (consisting of 3 min rounds each), it took 7 hours and 19 minutes until referee John Duffy called "no contest" after both men were too dazed and tired to come out of their corners. Source

  • IF MAYWEATHER WINS: For Mayweather who is coming to don the gloves after a 2 years retirement and presently "The Best Ever" (TBE), it means he will have to prove that he is really the best and winning this fight will put a seal to his claim as one of boxing's greats.
He is the self acclaimed money king and he spares no expense when he wants to have fun. The internet is filled with pictures of his extravagant lifestyle and groove; winning this bout will add more to this lifestyle.
Won't it be great that one can retire for 2 years and then come back and win the most publicized and expensive match in boxing history?

  • IF MCGREGOR WINS: Haaaan, yeah..., a long shot you will say. I mean who is McGregor by the way? UFC? 0-0?. Common, who is this guy? I wouldn't dismiss him yet though, at least he was able to book this fight so lets give it to him. As a man and a UFC fighter, he too has his own record and he sure is determined to book a place in sport's hall of fame.

Like I mentioned earlier, the world loves upset and if you ask those sportsmen and women, politicians and actors who have had major upsets, they will tell you it tasted bitter.
What if a what if were to play out? Will it be that bad? Will time be lost to all? Welcome to the world of 'what if'.

The internet will give you over a dozen stories of the world's greatest upset in sports history, (light bulb moment here).

Anyway, whoever wins will be crowned the winner and will walk away the Champion and Million of Dollars richer and the world will remember that day.

BUT IF McGregor wins, the word will never let Mayweather forget that day and for McGregor, he will become the owner of sport's biggest upset ever.
McGregor will walk away with millions upon millions more dollars, the inevitable rematch, endorsements, sponsorships and other fight purses, plus a New Throne.

Now that will be the biggest and best reward for a fighter who the world never gave a chance to get here and so far, its just days away to making history.
For both men, it will be a history making fight but with a spice different from the other's.

So what do you think will happen in the T-Mobile arena on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada?

Make the world a better place for someone today!

If mayweather goes under, it would be one of the biggest boxing news in a while.. . .

Both have a chance to knock out the other though, im not placing any bets on anyone.

May is old, n retired, mc is a new contender, no doubt some underground play is in order. . .

Time for a new king perhaps??

Can't wait putting my money on history making

Mayweather 'may' win.. What a ryhme

We will find out soon! Can't wait for the bout..gonna watch it live:D
Current odds are Money:-350 vs Mac:+275 (1,28vs3,75)

I have a bet on that McGregor doesn't land a punch in the first 60secs. £4 lay £28 return.

Mcgregor still have chances for like 3-4 first rounds... But afterwards he will get tired and then get his ass kicked ... What if he would knock Mayweather out? :D Mayweather is really tough :(

Great post 100% like

Hi, as a sign of my support for the tag #sports and #football, I vote for you and begin to follow you

So how much BS was the arrest of Mayeather? the forces were doing their deed to build it up i think
