OKS is a contact sport, the aim of which is to apply to each other punches in special gloves.
Although fisticuffs were presented even at the Ancient Olympic games, Boxing has officially recognized a sport only in 1900.
Often the rounds last 3 minutes, and the fight consists of 3-12 rounds. The fight can be stopped early if a knockout (when defeated, the opponent does not rise within 10 seconds) or when the injury, which is not possible to continue the fight. If before the end of the last round survived both participants, then the winner is determined by judges on the quantitative preponderance of glasses. The referee (judge in the ring) has a special function – it monitors violations, counts the knockout (when a boxer after a shock is based on the ring of the third bearing point – palm, knee, etc.). The rules allowed the retention and pushing partner, blows below the belt, in the back, in the back of the head and neck, in the kidneys. Besides, it is impossible to beat anything except fists in Boxing gloves. Boxers also have to obey the orders of the referee in case of violation of the rules, he may assign a warning, point deduction or even disqualification.
During the competition all participants are divided into 10 weight categories. In Boxing there are many styles (combat tactics). The most common – outfitter (strives to maintain the maximum distance to the opponent), boxer-puncher (trying to fight at medium range), swarmer or infighter (is fighting close range).
As strikes are only fists, this part of the body must protect from injury. To do this, most often under the Boxing gloves wound bandages. Before the sparring parties agree on the weight of the gloves themselves (depends on the force of the blow). To reduce injuries of the teeth, gums and the jaw, the boxers wear a mouth guard (made of flexible plastic that fits over the teeth).
