How I Spread Uncensored Christmas Joy on Facebook, and Got Away With It
I have a very special Christmas video that I like to share on Facebook around this time of year, but lately the facebook thought police bots have found it easier and quieter to simply block a user's post from view if it's an unapproved video or 'suspicious' link, so I wondered, how would I share my yuletide video with my friends this year?
In order to get past the facebook censorship and post my comedy Christmas video, I first typed this message into the facebook message field:
Then, instead of posting it as text, I made the above screenshot and posted it as a photo, perhaps making it harder to read for the censorship algorithms that might block the word 'facebook' and 'Christmas'. Ha!
It's not just key words that are blocked though; I've recently posted links to my Steemit articles on facebook, and I don't think that they were seen by anyone, so with this holiday post, I'm testing ways to sneak my subversive material through the facebook security systems.
Basically, links have to be shared in the comments section instead of the main body of text if you want anyone to see the post. It's one of the many ways that facebook protects us!
Using this technique, by disguising my post as a photo or a meme, at least 4 friends have 'liked' my post so far, so the test results show positive. I got it through!

Facebook tends to block Utube videos when they are in the body of the post, or they make them where they are low visibility.

That's a great trick - if I used fakebook I'd do that to post links to Steemit and to porn :) - all that talk about bones..

In the video, that's me acting American, but yeah I really am from right in the middle of the USA-- a front row seat, maybe a bit too close to see the show properly!
Barely anyone on Fb sees any of my posts nowadays. I don't care, whatever I have to share, I share directly in the Dragon Age Universe group. They see it, and I do that every time I publish a video about DA. I always get a new subscriber or two every time I do it and people enjoy the content.
Facebook is a scary place though. Say one thing and anyone will take offense and play victim and be triggered. I engage very rarely now on fb, I learnt the hard way.
I go there to FB and it's like a 3-ring circus, I rarely dare to add a word to the mess, it's just a wreck all by itself! It does allow me to see how a group mind can be used to control individuals, but it's frustrating to behold.
Oh yes, totally agree. I once commented on a friend's post that being aggressive towards men was not the right thing to do just because men once upon a time had been aggressive towards women. I didn't know I was talking to a faminazi. Oh man, the backlash I received. She claimed that since I'm a woman, that I'm a feminist. I was like, if this is feminism, then no I'm not. I was like, being mistreated once doesn't give me the right to mistreat others. Why do women have the right to be mean to guys just because we used to not be allowed to work or vote or wtv. It's not fair on the men who are alive today who did not decide those things or mistreat any women. She didn't care. And I was accused of all sorts of things. And I was called asleep! That one cracked me up. How sleeping sheep though the woke one was asleep.
Facebook is a minefield. I use it to network now than to try to socialise. It's a narcissistic environment. Everyone tries to appear cheery and awesome, while feeling shamed and depressed by everyone else seeming happy and successful.
Um, hahaha, that greatly appeals to my adolescent sense of humor!

Yes less people look at links without the picture, and then I think too that the posts are just not displayed in friend's feeds, so they are never even seen.

haha yep, I'm glad you watched it, it's definitely a satire on how people call the po-po for the most absurd things. I actually believe that the word 'Christmas' would have been blocked on FB if it were written into the post's text, or reported to the facebook po-po!
