The garden was damaged during World War I when it was used by German occupation troops, in the Second World War, when it was touched by the Anglo-American bombing of April 4, 1944. Then, out of over 700,000 planes of the herb, only 200,000 were saved. The herbarium of the Botanical Garden in Bucharest today has about 500,000 floors, being organized on two main sections.
