Buffalo Sabres Versus the Boston BruinssteemCreated with Sketch.

The Boston Bruins on Home Ice Shut out the Buffalo Sabres 4-0.

This is a Special Installment of My Bruins Steemit Blog because I was at the Game.

So I used all my own videos and photographs I collected throughout the game for the video I made. I hope you not only enjoy my analysis of the game but also the photography work I did.

I mainly used a Go Pro Silver 4 to film the game to capture the wide aspect view. I caught the second goal of the game by David Krecji, his first goal of the season. I also caught the fourth goal of the game by David Pastrnak and those are in the film. I was seated in the 9th row. Enjoy!

Bruins Starting Goalie Rask Bounces back after Ranger Loss with a Shutout

Tuuka Rask looked shaky against the New York Rangers in the previous game, and many people in the Boston area had started rumors that he had a knee injury. However Rask shut all those rumors up by posting a 32 save shutout effort against admittedly a weak Buffalo Sabres team, however a 32 save shutout is still a solid performance in the NHL against any team. Rask's numbers this year are still really good, and another shutout has improved them even more so: 7-1 record, .941 Save Percentage, 1.74 GAA, 2 Shutouts and two assists. Pretty solid numbers for 8 GP, also known as 10% of an 82 Game NHL season.

Bruins Second Period Woes are reversed for a Game, and the Bergeron Line Shines

The Bruins scored three goals in the second period of this game, a period which earlier in the season had been haunting them. So this is a good trend to see that the Bruins can identify a problem as a team and make adjustments to it. One game isn't a season and Buffalo is pretty terrible, but it is still a good sign. The Bergeron Marchand Pastrnak line was the most consistent and the best of the Bruin's lines all night long. Pastrnak has really stepped into the role of the speedy goal scorer on the RW that the Bergeron Line so desperately needed.

Other Players that Stood out in Person

Brandon Carlo, David Backes and Austin Czarnik were all extremely impressive in person. I thought that Carlo played a really solid game and he makes up for a lot of the lack of mobility on Chara's behalf. Chara and Carlo really do seem to have very complimentary games to one another, and I think they make a great pairing as the top defenseman for this team. Carlo is really playing beyond his years as a rookie, showing great awareness for positional play. Czarnik was once again the fastest player in my opinion on the ice, every time he is out there I notice Czarnik because of his skating speed. David Backes is just a player that clearly has a presence on the ice. Similar to the first time I saw Chara in a game, Backes is really big for a forward but not just size wise he plays larger than he is. Backes is constantly throwing his weight around and finishing checks, something the other Bruin's could learn from. I really like the game Backes brings night in and night out, and in person it is even more impressive.

Conclusion from this Game

Unfortunately this falls into the pattern I described in the Bruins Season Preview blog post, where the Bruins will beat bad teams like the Sabres, and lose to good teams like they did the previous game to the New York Rangers. Hopefully this is not indicative of the rest of the season but results are what they are. It seems so long as the Bruins are up against a weaker team, and get a solid performance from their goalie Rask, the Bruins will win. When the Bruins have a tough team and or no Rask in net, they lose. When Rask plays well and they have an easy match up the Bruins win. This trend has to be changed in the future.
