Greatest clips in music history | Eminem "My Name Is", 1999
The video has become a self-presentation of Slim Shady (alter ego of Eminem) - tough, sarcastic, rough, but catchy and accurate. The video begins with the couple lazily watching TV and Eminem is shown on each channel. He is a black-and-white film character and lead author of a science program, dressed as Bill Clinton and Marilyn Manson, reads a rap in a straight jacket in an insane asylum to his doctor (he is played by rapper Dr. Dre, who produced both the single "My Name Is" and the video for him). All this seems to be frivolous, but in fact in front of you is the coolest manifesto.
Eminem (also known as Slim Shady) from each TV told the whole world about himself, ridiculing the limitations, isolation and stereotypes of the listener - including the fact that "white" rap supposedly cannot be cool.
