BookWorm Initiative: Introducing Book Requests

One of the challenges about book reading is finding the materials. For those who have the means, we highly encourage to buy your own books and support the authors. But at the same time, we are also aware that this is one of the things that may hinder a lot of people from reading books, simply because they can't afford it.

Book Requests Overview

Resources is just one of the barriers that we need to work on. And I don't really know the legality or if it is even realistic to make this happen. But there are a lot of e-books being circulated online. I'm not really promoting piracy, and there could be some legality issues attached to this. Hope someone could comment about this. For now. let's just say that I know someone, who can pull those e-books somewhere. There maybe limitations to this of course, but the collection is huge. O.O

The idea here is that every member of the BookWorm Initiative or anyone will be able to request for e-books. We won't also encourage people to hoard the books. So we will limits requests to "one at a time". Every request should have at the very least, a commitment to actually read the book, and not just sit on it. So we will also work something out, how we can ensure that the books were actually read. Maybe we can include this to our "Daily Grind" or "Reading Challenge".

DISCLAIMER:
We can never guarantee 100% that we will be able to cater to all book requests. We have the resources, but it will totally depend on the availability of the materials.
Please also note that every request will be subjected to strict curation to prevent spamming.

Guidelines:

We need each request to be made via post.

1. Introduce the Book
   Overview and a brief summary of what the book is about.
   Why do you need the Book? How badly do you need a copy of it?
   What challenges were you having in acquiring a copy of the Book?

2. Commitments
   How do you intend to use the reading material?
   Any definite target in finishing the book?

3. Daily Grind
   After every successful request, the one who made the request is encouraged to participate in the #DailyGrind Challenge. We only need at least one entry coming from you, to ensure that you are actually using the material. Once a daily grind entry has been submitted, you can then request for another book.
   Daily Grind guidelines will be discussed separately and will be launched soon.

4. Invite at least 3 people to join the challenge.
   If all 3 invitee will join, I will personally reward 100% on the post.
   There could be more additional rewards later on, we'll see.

5. Use the hashtags #bookworm #requests

6. Title must start with "BookWorm Book Requests: [Book Title]"

7. Paste post link at our Discord Channel #book-requests

8. Additional Guideline: The whole post request should be greater than 350 words.
   Even though this is just a simple book request, we still want to add value to the WhaleShares platfrom in general.

Book Ambassadors

We will also have a separate rewards for our book ambassadors. We will be selecting winners here as needed. To be able to participate, just leave a comment and a short review about any book submitted via the book requests challenge. It's as simple as that.

Our goal here is to encourage the entire community to read the book and see the value that these books bring in order to provide us with the recreation and the invaluable rewards they bring. This is taking into consideration, our Bookworm Initiative's vision of "Igniting the Learner In You Through Reading".
