Are you an aristocrat bored of your life? Are you looking for something that would excite you from head to toe? Maybe Lady Rample can help you; just go with her to a jazz nightclub and find yourself with a murder.

Set in the picturesque 1930s London, Shéa MacLeod introduces us to Lady Ophelia Rample, a cheerful widow of high society fond of drinking, fast cars and adventure with an almost humble past, as she was the daughter of an ultraconservative parish priest. She has a tendency to avoid social gatherings with her peers the best she can, because they bored her not to say more; at that point that in one of those inevitable agglomerations she decides to go with her best friend, Charles "Chaz" Raynott III, to the Astoria, a jazz club whose owners were Lady Helena Fairfax, a recognized lady of society, and Alfred Musgrave, a man with connections to organized crime.

Is in that place where Lady R will debut in the world of police and thieves, because a few minutes after midnight a murder occurs.

Of 18 chapters, this book was undoubtedly a cool entertainment, with its ups and downs throughout the plot. The characters seemed interesting to me; each one of them has a distinctive personality that makes you remember (with a lot or little affection) the characters of the emblematic universe of Agatha Christie, from whom the author confesses to being a fan since she was a child. For example, Lady R and her aunt, Butty, reminded me a lot of Miss Marple for their natural curiosity about crime; the Fairfax, meanwhile, reminded me of the Redferns, who appeared in the novel Evil Under the Sun.

The description of the Interwar period's London seemed idyllic, with a detective touch. It was like you were in the skin of the heroine of history, wandering through its streets chasing an enemy who is maybe more cunning than yourself.
