I think I could have brightened my mind a little all alone, maybe through so much introspection, but books offer so much more help and guidance. In fact, they are an indispensable source of motivation and mental passion. Whether you read novels or non-fiction, science or poems, don't underestimate the benefits and joy of reading. Its effect is a lot more visceral than your lazy mind can imagine.
