Literary Video of the Day – Fear and Loathing in Gonzovision, featuring Hunter S. Thompson and Ralph Steadman (BBC, 1978)
Following yesterday's post, Fear and Loathing in Gonzovision (alternatively titled Fear and Loathing on the Road to Hollywood) is a 1978 BBC documentary, directed by Nigel Finch. The docs loose premise is to catch up with Thompson and his frequent collaborator and illustrator, Ralph Steadman, as they revisit the landscape that was the background for the pair's 1971 classic Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The results are interesting, to say the least. It features some great interviews, as well as excerpts from their work. Here's the full 50-minute video:
