RE: Novels by Gene Stratton-Porter: Free Download Links!
Thanks for the post and info. I just spent a bit of time reading about the author once I saw your post. Very fascinating person. Thanks for sharing her works here. Plan to check them out. Love that house in the woods as well. Not your average log cabin...
It's not as shocking as seeing what British literature calls an aristocrat's "country cottage" though :D
I can imagine..."a paltry 27 rooms, and only 3 baths". The world is definitely skewed.
Speaking of "skewed," only 3 people have actually read this post despite 83 upvotes. That would be you, me, and my sock puppet account @goodguygreg. His view didn't appear until he actually opened the Steem page. Testing first by opening the page on Busy.org and steemdb don't change the view count, so it is possible others have read it without triggering the counter, but the string of upvotes I got over a very short time span indicates the votebot infestation is still going strong. No flags yet though, so there's that.
Skewed and a bit frustrating. When you get 83 votes and only 3 people actually OPEN a post, let alone read it, is very frustrating. I don't fully understand all the in and outs of this site, but seems if the bots don't vote, I can get 15 votes total sometimes. And the view counter is even MORE of a bummer.
And what is really worrisome, is that in a week or two, when the number of post limit is off, I doubt anyone will see a post we put out. I fear TONS of internet copy junk coming up here, and pushing a post to the bottom in minutes. Unless you have a dynamite following...who will see anything? It should prove interesting, indeed. I don't think the unlimited posting will survive the garbage storm. I greatly prefer the original idea, of quality content. Then again, this is an experiment, and I understand they need more interaction on the site. At least from what I understand. I've babbled on here long enough, have a good night.
