Law 18: Isolation is Dangerous

“The world is dangerous and enemies are everywhere — everyone has to protect themselves. A fortress seems the safest. But isolation exposes you to more dangers than it protects you from — it cuts you off from valuable information, it makes you conspicuous and an easy target. Better to circulate among people, find allies and mingle. You are shielded from your enemies by the crowd.”

There is no power in being a hermit

Our world is changing. You can do everything from your home now. I have my own gym and can get groceries or any item I want from Amazon. A VPN connection allows me to do all my work from home. There is literally no reason why I would need to leave the security of my home other then to grab a beer with a friend.

I choose not to live this way

Although I have the choice to do everything from home in my life, I choose not to. I make sure I travel to the office for business instead of doing everything remotely. It plugs me into the pulse of what's happening. Mingling, creating allies and friendship are crucial in a developing a prosperous career and social circle.

Do no isolate yourself from the world. Get out there.

This post is a series. All laws are taken from "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene.

Cannot agree any less.....humans are not wired to live in isolation, more reason why anyone who lives in isolation, might probably be having some forms of underlying issues and most likely need help!.....getting in the mix makes live worth living

Great points. I've been using different venues to get even more social like meetup groups etc to help expand my social circle
