Never split the difference - Chris Voss (book recommendation)
The book 'Never split the difference - Negotiating as if your life depended on it' explains how to apply FBI hostage negotiation techniques to business negotiations, or any type of negotiation really. It takes a practical approach and works with memorable examples both from hostage negotiations and regular life situations like negotiating rent or getting a business deal.
Initially, I got it from the libary and ended up buying a copy. It's definitely a keeper!
Here's a talk from the main author, Chris Voss, where he touches on some of the points the book discusses. I found it quite nice to hear his voice after reading the book, as he emphasises the importance of using the right tone during a negotiation. He's also an entertaining presenter.
