Happy Holidays from me to you all.

Enjoy photos of my bonsai tree decorated for the season.

At my local bonsai club we met to decorate our trees.

The club president had to label the purpose of the meetings "How to hang weights to shape branches without wires."

Really, it was just an excuse for us to bring out the decorations and have fun hanging them on our trees.

The red drums are a new ornament. I like the way the light hits the edges, to display a frozen snowflake.

I had fun stringing the lights on this tree, not knowing the proper way to do it.

The string of lights are bendable wires, and they have to be twisted along the branches, so they are not springing out in every random direction like a wired mess.

The new string of lights I bought this year are extra long and able to string 2/3 of the tree. I have another smaller string that covers the upper portion.

The new lights even have a setting that responds to sound, which causes the lights to change and blink. I was demonstrating this odd effect by speaking in a ghostly voice as the lights glimmered in unison with my words.

Sound synced Christmas lights are on sale at Rite Aide right now, and they can make for a very fun playful toy adults and kids will enjoy together.

The lights are controlled by a little box I hid behind the pot. Each control box uses 3 batteries.

In addition to the string of lights, red balls, white pearly bells, red drums, and gold instruments decorate my Douglas Fir tree.

Here are trees decorated by the other members of the bonsai club.

Gold pine cones.

Blue jingle bells, mirror disco balls, and blue drums. Guy wires are used to help open up the branches wider, and offer perches for decorations to hang from. Some of the ornaments are filled with sand to further shape the branches to hang lower. This is a Cypress tree.

Your little tree is defintely the most festive. I like the composition of the third photo (the one below the description on the drum ornament). The bells really sparkle, reflecting the twinkling lights. Makes me smile.

Love the different styles you picked out for each one. I never thought of bonsai as something that could be decorated for the holidays.
