Decorating the Tree in the Holiday Spirit [Bonsai][Christmas]

Merry Christmas! Enjoy photos of my bonsai tree all decorated for the holidays.

This year I've added shiny red balls and a string a lights.

The tree is a douglas fir, and it is about five years old. It's about 15 inches tall from soil level to apex, by estimate.

This one tree in my little collection, I like to train its branches to grow specifically for Christmas and hanging decorations on. A good Christmas tree is a very deep green, cone shaped, and has lots of springy needles bristling with life.

Even though I had a few dead branches, I left them on. They still make a nice perch to hang decorations from.

Later on I'll take some photos of the tree at night, and make another post so you can better see the lights. We have been getting a ton of rain, so hopefully there will be a nice evening to get some photos in the dry air.

This was a great way to use up all of the short, snarled training wires I had leftover from past projects. Bonsai wire can be refashioned into hooks to hang decorations.
