Earth Rangers bonfire night

The day began with the Earth Rangers preparing some snacks to entertain their guests for the evening bonfire as well as cleaning up the space for the bonfire.
One thing they prepared was zobo (Hibiscus sabdariffa) but commonly known in our community as folere. Folere is a local drink which is very healthy. To increase the health and nutritional value of the folere, the Earth Rangers added lemon grass, ginger and pineapple and the drink really tasted good after cooking.

We put everything in the pot and cook till it boils and then sieve to get our Folere
The Earth Rangers also prepared some popcorn for their guests.
They then arranged a program for the bonfire night as follows;

• Arrival of guests and sitting around the fire
• Self introductions and word of welcome from the coordinator of the Earth Rangers, @mr-greens
• Presentation of the Earth Rangers Environmental Paradise Art
• Cooperative Game led by the Earth Rangers known as Fishers of Men
• A talk on Security and Safety tips in times of crisis by one of the parents of the community
• Drama by the Earth Rangers
• A talk on Virtues by one of the parents of the community
• Cooperative Game led by Earth Rangers known as The King Says
• A green song by Earth Ranger Faith
• Closing remarks

After all was we waited for 6:30PM but unfortunately for us, it started raining cats and dogs from 04:00PM till very late in the night. Nature didn’t permit us have our bonfire.
We however agreed to have the bonfire next week as well as shared the popcorn and folere to everyone who was present, so that they can take it back home and enjoy with their families.

@thegreens is currently engaged in Waste Management (Waste Business Hub); Plastic Waste Upcycling, Tire Upcycling and Textile Waste Recycling via @ecodesigns.
Her #EndPlasticPollution Campaign has seen the organization sensitize more than 100,000 people about plastic pollution, upcycled more than 10,000 plastic bottles to create UPB Vertical Gardens, UPB Tree Nursery Pots, etc.

Her Textile Recycling Project (@ecodesigns) is currently training 13 young girls for free in textile recycling and fashion designing and has recycled more than 5000 pounds of textile waste.

Her Tire Upcycling Project is educating and engaging young people in schools and communities to #StopBurningTires and upcycle them to create Mushroom Tire Seats, Tire Flower Pots, etc
