I've now booked my travel & accommodation for the 2018 BOINC Workshop which is being held in Oxford University this year between the 24rd & 27th of July!

Unfortunately not me but it is fantastic news that you are going so we have real representation for Gridcoin. Enjoy the event!

Yeah, there's a few Gridcoin community members attending - new gen BOINC workshop attendees ;D

lol... the more Gridcoiners (old & new) the better!

Will you be talking about the idea of microgrid?

microgrid is still too early for something like this -- keep in eye out in the coming weeks for some writings on the project.

Maybe talk wasn't the right word. I meant more of a brief mention of microgrid. Do you think it's still to early for that?

microgrid? I'm not sure of this concept?

I'm primarily focused on the proof of userId ownership via public key crypto & fostering better relations between the BOINC & Gridcoin communities.

Microgrid is an idea that allows people who can't afford a super computer but don't have enough work for a BOINC project, to submit smaller batches to a larger project. Similar to world community grid but for a larger set of projects that can be very short. There was a fireside discussion, here is the link.

So a commercial BOINC project? It'd be interesting to create one, we aught to create another boinc project brainstorming thread - so as to attract more attention to the concept.

Not quite, it would be more of a community run type thing. It would allow smaller institution/any researcher to use BOINC but for free and without having to have a constant and large workload. I use world community grid as a comprison because of the mixing of diffrent work without one central computation.

Waiting for it and will be helpful for new ideas and projects

aw dude, you're so lucky to be going again. have a great time! :)
