[Board Games] Hey, That's My Fish

My friend picked up this quirky little game for cheap, so we brought it to the table with our group recently. Let's have a look.

The playing board is constructed of hexes randomly ordered and placed according to a prescribed layout, as shown.

Each hex has one, two, or three fish on it.

To start the game players place their penguin pieces on any tile they choose that has one fish on it. From there, turns consist of each player moving one of their penguins in a straight line as far as they wish. The player picks up whichever hex they just vacated and adds that to their pile of fish. At the end of the game Whoever has the most fish wins.

As you can see, the rules are very simple but there's a fair bit of strategy involved once the penguins start moving.

The components are of good quality, the hexes are thick cardboard, and the penguin pieces are well-designed.

For some reason the game also comes with a proof of purchase token. I'm not sure why, it just struck me as odd so I thought I would throw it into this review.

The only real complaint I have is that the hexes shift around a lot when you're picking them up. So it can be hard to keep the board orderly. This is really a minor concern though.

The theme of this game makes it seem like it's aimed at children, but I think it's a bit more of a complex strategy game then the cute penguins would imply. I don't know that it has a ton of replay value, but I could see it being brought out periodically as a short filler game.
