KISAH ABON AZIZ SAMALANGA

Abon Mesjid Raya Samalanga is one of the charismatic scholars of Aceh. His original name is Tgk.H.Abdul 'Aziz bin M.Shaleh, he is more familiar with Abon' s call Samizah or Abon Mesjid Raya Samalanga. Bornuen was born in the village of Kandang Samalanga Bireuen district , in the month of Ramadan 1351 H / 1930 M. Abon began studying in formal education in 1937, Abon entered the People's School (SR) and completed primary education in 1944.Since 1944 he studied in his parents for 2 years, then on in 1946 he enlisted to the hut pasantren LPI MUDI Mesjid Raya Samalanga which at that time was led by Tgk.H.Hanafiah commonly known by the call Teungku Abi, Abon studied in MUDI more or less for 2 years.

In 1948 Abon continued his education to one of the pasantren huts led by teungku Ben known as the teungku call Tanjongan location of his pasantren in Matang kuli Aceh Utara, here abon studied in ustad Idris tanjongan up to 1949, and in that year he returned to Pasantren MUDI to dedicate himself to be a teacher in the pasantren.

After he served as a teacher for several years, in 1951 Abon continued his education to Pasantren Darussalam Labuhan Haji district of South Aceh led by Alm.Abuya Muda Waly Al-Khalidi.Abon studied in Labuhan Haji for less than 7 years and in 1958 Abon back again to MUDI samalanga to develop his knowledge. In that year the leader of Pasantren MUDI died so that Abon was appointed to lead the pasantren.

Abon Aziz started his career as a dayah leader from 1958 to 1989.Semenjak Pasantren MUDI under the leadershipan, many changes occurred in it, especially concerning the curriculum of education that was not very focused on the science of tools such as mantiq, ushul, bayan, ma'ani etc., during the leadership of abon the sciences that became the focal point.

There is one message from Abon that is very often handed over to his students, ie teaching and learning, wherever they are and under any circumstances when they have returned to the village later, even with a hall in front of the house. And finally abon diebutilkan kehadhirat- On the 9th day of jumadil Late 1409/17 januari 1989.Beliau end of age at the age of 58 years in Samalanga and in the grass at the complex of MUDI son Samalanga.
