BLURT up 70% over HIVE in the past 6 months

Crypto has been hit hard since Trump threatened China and spooked markets last month, many currencies down 20-50% or more. It hasn't been a great year for most of the altcoins, but now it appears all hope of "altseason" is evaporating, and many investors are selling back to BTC or fiat currencies. During this time period, BLURT has held up surprisingly well, including a 70% gain over sister token HIVE in the past 6 months!

That's BLURT priced in HIVE since May, showing a clear and uninterrupted rotation of capital into BLURT. The data is from Hive Engine, where users trade between BLURT and HIVE directly. Note there has not been a single moment when the tide reversed - HIVE has only been able to slow the bloodloss, but never heal the wound. HIVE is bleeding out, as fast as the 13-week powerdown delay will allow!

One place users fleeing the dying Hive are parking their funds is in Blurt, which has shown itself to be a stable blockchain, community, and currency. We don't suffer from the downvote cabal cancer that is eating HIVE from the inside, and many know that. Creators and investors of all sizes are leaving HIVE, many finding their natural place here at Blurt. Hive is disintegrating, and some of that energy is going into Blurt... and there's nothing Hive can do to stop it.

Blurt has development that even Hive doesn't, like @Blurt.Media, which is far superior to 3Speak, DTube, etc. And no downvotes. And quick powerdowns. Lots of perks to make users and investors happy. For these reasons and others, BLURT has fared better than most altcoins during the market downturn. If we're heading for a 2026 bear market, BLURT is probably one of the better cryptos to be parked in, if recent performance continues. (Will it continue, though? BLURT was just delisted from Probit, and that will have ramifications for the token and community, a topic for future posts.)

The above image is an amalgamation of the following two images, each showing 3 months of data:

BLURT is up from 0.0088 to 0.0151 (more than 70%) in that time period. But I recall that BLURT was trading down around 0.006 at the start of this year, meaning it has already gained +150% over HIVE in 2025. The trend shows no sign of stopping.

But maybe it's unfair to compare ourselves against HIVE...

Youch, that's HIVE's price history against BTC. HIVE is currently at a new all-time low in every crypto and fiat currency. When an asset is just temporarily down, a plunge like that means a buying opportunity. But for a dying platform like Hive, a plunge like that means the currency has failed, and it's time to get whatever you can get for it.

Personally, I'm extremely happy I moved almost all my BTC into gold and silver bullion, at various cost-averaged points during 2025. I bought a lot of gold in January, when PMs were cheap, but BTC was over 100k. Then I bought silver more recently, when BTC was about 120k, and silver still has a long bull market ahead of it.

I do still own some DOGE, which I'm unhappy about, having believed there would be another altseason. It's down, but still worth a few grand. I may spend it on groceries, or hang on to see if things recover in a year or so. And I've still got all my BLURT, which is powered down and waiting for a decision. I could dump it, but it's barely worth 2 grand. Doesn't seem right to sell several years of full-time effort, plus my initial investment of 0.2 BTC, for a mere 2000 USD.

But man, am I sure glad I haven't been holding any HIVE! Very sad for users of that blockchain, and/or holders of that token. HIVE has been around for 6 years, but only had one bull market - 2021. A nonstop slide toward zero ever since then. Now, with BTC about to plunge below 100k, HIVE is almost guaranteed to lose another 50% of its purchasing power over the next few months. And with no bull market, no altseason, and no hope... what is there left of HIVE? A crappy video module, some blockchain games that jumped the shark long ago, layers of development all centered around "reputation score" and downvoting. The whales are disappearing one by one. Powerdowns are at a record high. It's over.

None of that is the case here at Blurt. We're going as strong as ever. Except for the Probit delisting, just announced. That's not good, and could derail our trajectory. I hope I'm wrong, and this is just our chance to pull up our bootstraps and achieve our dreams... or something...

Let's just give thanks that we don't own any HIVE!

Amen.
