BLURT token delisting on Probit and what we should do next

Uh oh!

Probit is going through with delisting BLURT after all. We have 9 days to finish up all trades.

Kind of disturbing we put all our eggs into that basket (remember all the "community calls to action"?)... and now it's gone. I personally risked my assets, powered down my entire stake, and purposely lost a bunch of money supporting the token on Probit (trying to increase daily trade volume etc). It was all for nothing. Woops!

Now we've got a week or so to get all our tokens off that exchange. Back to our wallets here, or to Hive Engine to sell them for HIVE. Not a lot of options left!

I would comment on that community discussion, but for years now I have been banned from doing so (by Blurt's owner Megalodrive).

So, here is my suggestion to fix this problem:

Get rid of the BLURT token.

Delete the BLURT cryptocurrency completely. It can't be traded anymore, and we failed to see an altseason so the token price is headed to zero anyway.

Besides, as I've been pointing out for months, NOT A SINGLE PERSON HAS EVER MADE MONEY BLOGGING ON BLURT. Not one. I've asked repeatedly for anyone to name a single person who earns a living (or even partial living) with their efforts here, but there isn't one example.

I've tried for years, and have succeeded in stacking 1.3 million tokens.. that aren't worth anything. I started here with 0.2 BTC, and after years of nonstop work, I've got less than 2000 USD left. That's less than 0.02 BTC! In other words, I have lost 90% of my investment... and several years of my life. I was putting in hours and hours, 365 days a year! I was one of the top 5 earners, both in content AND in curation. But I've still got far less than I came with. You can't earn on Blurt. Nobody can.

So why are we bothering with the tokens? They're headed even closer to zero value, and even if they weren't, nobody has ever been able to use them to profit. They're only good for paying the blockchain fees. So get rid of the fees, and get rid of the tokens. We can carry on blogging like we've always done. We can still have a community. Still have likes (votes), but just no payouts. Not that they were ever good for anything anyway. Good riddance.

All it would take is a witness vote, something we do regularly anyway. Delete all BLURT. We recently deleted millions of "unclaimed" (dormant) tokens owned by someone who doesn't post here, right? So there's precedent for deleting/burning millions of tokens at a time. It can be done. Do them all! Then we can get rid of the witnesses, and the wallets. Put up a few ads to pay server costs. Voila, the Blurt blogging platform is reborn! If you're not winning, change the game.

So, shall we convert Blurt to a blockchain-based blogging platform... without the promise of "you can earn crypto for your content and opinions"?
