Student flies home to see her mum only to learn she died hours earlier – and then her flight to the funeral was cancelled
Satya Piccioni arrived in America expecting to see her mother, Lucia Grenna, waiting for her at the airport.

A YOUNG woman has spoken of her agony after flying home to see her mum, only to be told that she had died hours before she landed.

To add to the student's heartbreak, she was then unable to attend her mum's funeral service because her Air Canada flight was cancelled.

Ms Grenna died unexpectedly at her Washington DC home on June 15, hours before she was due to be reunited with her daughter.

Satya could attend a funeral service for her mum in Washington, but her heartbreak was only added to when her flight to a second service in Rieti, Italy, was cancelled.
