Loving my needlework niche blogging

Have I told you how much I love blogging? And it's not just writing content, but it's the whole process of building one. I've been blogging ever since before the word blogging was invented.

Naturally, one would want to make money doing something one loves. I've done a whole load of them, and learnt early on that focusing on a particular topic or niche is one of the keys to increasing authority and therefore earnings on a blog.

My favourite niche blog that I've maintained until today is my cross stitch site. I don't personally cross stitch myself, but I have adored them since I was a nine year old kid. It started when I saw a project my then 12-year old elder sister made for her school arts project. She did a great job at it -- the flower patterns were adorable. Cross stitching is easy and still creative enough for me or anyone to delve into almost immediately.

Cross Stitch 4 Free is particularly dear to me because I get to combine my WordPress and programming skills, my online money making and SEO knowledge, and my childhood passion. This is also my first blog to ever start earning Google Adsense income. It's been 10 years since I had this site, with almost 4 years' worth of hiatus in between, due to life.

The great thing about a well-thought out blog is that it'll consistently make money for you even if you're not actively maintaining it, which is the case with this site. That'll be a post for another day.
