How to get more value from your bloggingsteemCreated with Sketch.

Being new to Steemit but an old hand at blogging, I wanted to share one of my most important tips.

I started out on the web in 1994. Something I learned very early that remains true today is it is hard to fully predict human behaviour.

Treat Everything as an Experiment

One of the reasons I am here is because I heard about it and want to try it out. I have no preconceived notion about how it will work out for me, or if there will be any benefit beyond enjoying the conversation.

If I made a terrible mistake that is ok, no lives were lost :)

Everything you do is an opportunity to learn!

That last piece is the key point - learn

Process

  1. Consider what you want/need to do.
  2. Decide how you will measure success.
  3. Try something.
  4. How do your measures look?
  5. What will you do more of/differently?

My Steemit Goals

My goal here is kind of fluffy, I want to meet awesome people, have fun, and learn.

So how can I measure?

Well if I am integrated into the community, in a month I should have a (50) next to my name (please correct me if that is wrong). So I can look back and see if I have been down voted or if I am doing ok. I can also see how many people I am following or follow me (friends made, kind of?).

How are you measuring your progress?
