Écriture sans frontières - My foray onto Seeking Alpha.

in #blog5 years ago

We now live in the Information Era, where new technologies have allowed mankind to be interconnected amongst ourselves in a way not possible before. With new technology, such as the internet, we have opened the possibilities to communicate, learn, and work from wherever we may be.

In this Era, as we continue to progress at breakneck speeds, faster than ever before in human history, we are undergoing a period of disruption, where the new takes place of the old.

The same disruption was seen over a century ago, as our transportation changes from horses to cars, and we begin to communicate over the telephone, rather than the telegram. As consumers cry for something new which benefits their day-to-day, industries move along to provide them.

This Era has marked another industry for disruption, one centred around the flow and control of human wealth. The complex mathematics where these institutions have built their foundation upon, no longer necessitate the need for regular human interactions. The concept of computerisation has taken over the more difficult work. In this industry of finance, economics, and business, people have become more aware of what they own, and what they choose to entrust to others.

The blockchain has created a new ecosystem, where peoples around the world may transact information anonymously, with their data and identities secured, in an infrastructure that self-governs, and without any one, or group of people having control of it.

On the other hand, cryptocurrencies have created a new medium, where people can own and control their own money, in a way the traditional banking system would not allow. With this medium in place, monies can flow around anywhere in the world quickly, anonymously, cheaply, and without the restriction of borders.

As someone who has studied and partaken an interest in this industry, such a disruption as those, have indeed perked my intrigue, and has presented itself as an interesting case to study, and to be a part of.

Such is the case, that I had melded the old and the new together, as I have recently joined as one of many contributors on Seeking Alpha, one of the world's premier platforms for discussions and analysis on all things which have monetary value.

I have been a member of this venerable platform for a few years now, but this would mark the first time which I have made a contribution on the platform. In fact, I have thus far written 2 articles, both of which discusses the state of the cryptocurrency market, in particular Bitcoin.

This is an especially interesting mark on Seeking Alpha, as the content there has long been centered around more traditional assets, such as stocks, commodities, bonds, ETFs, forex, and so it goes.

These contributions, with more to come, is quite the accomplishment for me. Unlike more casual blogs, such as the one here on Steemit/Steempeak, articles on Seeking Alpha requires the need for editorial scrutiny, thus having to meet high standards, with quite a high bar to content quality.

For someone who bought their first Bitcoins in 2015, on a train ride home from college during a rainy mid-afternoon, this certainly marks a new frontier. I'll continue to write more on Seeking Alpha, with some new analysis coming soon. There, I will attempt to disseminate the cryptocurrency markets, and to analyse where they are now, what happened and over what might happen next.

For you, the good Steemian reading this, following me on Seeking Alpha means 2 things for you;

Firstly, if you have invested, or are planning to invest into cryptocurrencies, then my articles there will aim to gain your understanding on how to analyse market data. It might (hopefully ) help you to make a difficult decision that much easier, without all the extremely tedious numbers-crunching.

Secondly, if you have been following me around the Steem community, and you happen to be keen to know how I actually look like in the flesh, then Seeking Alpha will help you with a face reveal.

While I have been rather quiet on posting more cryptocurrency related articles here on Steemit/Steempeak, don't worry, as there will be more coming soon. In any case, I hope to perhaps see you on Seeking Alpha, and maybe you could have a peek on what I've written about so far.

Or if you're not too interested to follow along M. Zack Norman on Seeking Alpha, then maybe consider following @zacknorman97 here instead while you're at it :-)
