Review on Kaweco SKYLINE Sport Fountain Pen --worthy to buy?
I am a fountain pen lover who can not afford a lot of money on it.
Here, I will introduce you Kaweco SKYLINE Sport fountain pen that I ordered recently, and compare it with my first fountain pen Pilot KAKUNO.
Kaweco is a Geman company established in 1883.
From the official website, you will find different color in this series, like black, grey, pink and so on.
As well as different writing systems, such as fountain pen, gel roller, ballpen, and pencils.
The choice of fountain pen nibs from EF to BB.
Compare to Kaweco SKYLINE, although there are ten colors you can choose from Pilot Kakuno, just three kinds of Nibs are available, EF, F, and M.
Here, it is the one I have, which is mint color with Medium Nib. The Pilot one also with Medium Nib.
They are the same weight--11g.
It is obvious that Kaweco is shorter.
The covered pen is 10.5cm in Kaweco, which is 13.1cm in Pilot; when the cap enlarges the length by capping at the end, Kaweco is 13cm while Pilot is 16cm.
I used the same brand ink with each fountain pen. In my experience, the Japanese ink is more matchable with Japanese paper, the same as the European brand.
More detals about nibs.
To sum up, both of these fountain pens are my love. With more use of Kaweco, it feels better and better to write both in English and Chinese.
If you wanna find a cheaper one or live in Asian, I would like to recommend you Pilot Kakuno, which costs less 10 dollars with free ink cartridges. The Kaweco as double as the price.
If you wanna find a small one to take, I would like to recommend you Kaweco, which you could choose an extra clip to take it more convenient.
For writing, the Pilot one feels more smooth--might because I use it more than 2 years. The difference by pressing it is more visible.
